Himachal Pradesh schools will soon see the appointment of 2,145 new JBT (Junior Basic Training) and TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) teachers. These appointments will be made by the Education Department on a batch-wise basis. The Election Commission has given the green light to these appointments, allowing the recruitment process, which was halted due to three assembly by-elections, to resume. The Directorate of Elementary Education has geared up to complete the appointment process swiftly and appoint qualified candidates in schools soon. These appointments will not only improve the education sector but also address the shortage of teachers, enhancing the quality of education for students.

These teachers will undergo a 15-day training program. The Directorate of Elementary Education announced the results of the batch-wise counseling held in October-November 2023 on March 13, 2024. The Education Department sought approval from the High Court to fill 1,161 JBT positions, and permission was granted to start the appointment process for 1,122 positions. Director of Elementary Education, Ashish Kohli, stated that the appointments will be made soon.
